Omg, one of my favorite (and, of course, totally unknown) fairytales involves a maid’s mother trying to drown the princess on the journey to her betrothed by throwing her mattress overboard while she’s sleeping. It doesn’t work because, unbeknown to her, the mattress is stuffed with phoenix feathers, and thus can’t sink.
